Staff's Holidays

I wanted to let you know what your staff did over the holidays. There were some families in need that were brought to our attention so a few of us took it upon ourselves to help them out. Please note that this was not done in the name of Arc Services, Inc. but these were staff and community members that are associated with Arc. 

We started out with one family. The mother and her 8 children and three grandchildren who all are living in a two bedroom mobile home. Children were sleeping on the floor with no cover or pillows. They did not have food, clothes and their electric and water/sewer was going to be disconnected. One of the children’s Christmas wishes was a new toothbrush! 

We got approval from Terri to send out an email to local Stanly County staff. Well…… That email spread like wild fire! Before we knew it…. Folks in the court house had the email, three churches were calling, and Bank of Stanly got involved. 

Your staff pulled together and not only did we feed, cloth and bring gifts for everyone in the large family…… we also we able to help four other families with food, clothes and paid car insurances, but we were able to take clothes and toys to the Stanly County Women’s shelter and the Pregnant Teen Shelter. 

People from the community got involved and Bethel Church in New London has committed to helping the family long term! They have raised $300.00 to repair the family’s truck so they can have transportation. In the meantime, Community Support and Intensive In Home has begun as well as Vocational Rehabilitation and Social Services. This had to be the best Christmas I ever had! God was so great and to be apart of something like this was wonder. I just thought that you needed to know what your staff did for our community.
